Fish Groups.
FISH Groups (Fellowship In Someone's House) are
Discovery Church’s discipleship groups that consist of between 5-15 people and
meet for 2 hours on a regular basis. The main goal of Fish Groups is to develop
fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ by having individual lives transformed
through the power of God. Within these groups we are intentional about being
more than simply a church social group, although that is a part. We also
provide a time for praising and worshiping God, a time of teaching and a time
of ministry to each other through prayer. In many respects we are trying to
model these groups after the early church as described in Acts 2:42 where it
says, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”.
Fish Groups are a place to grow in your faith,
support each other no matter what the occasion or issue, and be equipped to
share with others our faith and testimony. Through these groups you will see
that God's word is alive and useful for living today and that lives can be
transformed. You will also learn that joy and peace are fruits we can
experience in our daily living.
