Discovery Ministry Opportunities.
Spring Break
Missions's Trip:
The Missions team is again planning a
short mission trip to Hazard, Kentucky during the 2008 Spring
Break. Prayerfully consider you or your family's
participation from Sunday noon (April 6) through Friday
evening (April 11) and help needy people get homes or their
homes repaired. We plan to be voluteering with
Hazard-Perry County Housing Development Alliance. This
is the same place we were at in 2007.
Financial support is available from the
Missions Fund to help with the trip. Please prayerfully
consider using your Spring Break to serve people in
need. For more details and actual costs contact
one of the members of the Mission team.
Emergency Care
Boxes.
Discovery has created a new opportunity
for us to meet the immediate needs of those in our
community. Often, people will come by the church, not on
days with the Mobile Food Pantry, asking for money or
food. Currently we have nothing to offer them.
However, starting this winter Discovery will be offering
Emergency Care Boxes to those individuals in
need. Emergency Care Boxes will inlcude various grocery
and toiletry items. We need to have at least 20
Emergency Care Boxes to start with and will continue the
ministry throughout the year.
In the back of church is a
list of the items needed to be included in each box. We
need everyone to participate so we can fill our goal of 20
boxes. You can either purchase items to fill a box, or
purchase several of a few types of items as they go on
